| News | | Downtown Trick or Treat | | 10.31.2006 | Downtown Somerville’s Annual Trick or Treat will be on
Tuesday, October 31 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Commerce Bank will be doing free photos, Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots will be greeting visitors, Somerville Library will have a game in front of the former Art Emporium, Johnny the Clown will be making balloon animals, Annie's Balloon Affair will be giving away balloons, and the DMC will have a contest in front of the Giardina Walkway.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with the event, call Cynthia Hollod at 908-541-1600, Stephanie Verb at 908-704-8989 or Bonnie Allen at 908-625-1622.
Store posters promoting the event are in the process of being distributed. In addition, the event will be marketed through flyers to area schools and daycare centers as well as a press release, internet marketing and ads in The Reporter. Start spreading the word to your customers and invite them to come back on Halloween.
How much candy should you buy? Last Halloween was a beautiful, warm sunny day and there were lots of kids. Businesses last year gave away around 500-800 or more pieces of candy.
This event is being coordinated by the Somerville District Management Corporation and the Somerville Business and Professional Association with the support of the downtown Somerville businesses. | |
