| DMC Operations | | | Somerville District Management Corporation The Borough of Somerville District Management Corporation was formed by Somerville Municipal Ordinance on June 13, 1988. The District Management Corporation was commissioned to represent the unique interests of business owners and property owners within the designated Special Improvement District. (SID) The District Management Corporation will oversee and manage the appearance, shoppers convenience, security and cleanliness of the Special Improvement District in order to increase its appeal to shoppers, office workers, residents and tourists as a viable shopping area, recreation area and destination place. The District Management Corporation is comprised of merchants, bankers, property owners, professionals, government officials, residents and others who are dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the Special Improvement District. The District Management Corporation will work to establish an image of solid potential for growth for existing businesses, new business opportunities and for investors. The District Management Corporation will accomplish major capital improvements known as Streetscape to act as a catalyst for business development, cultural development and private sector improvements within the Special Improvement District. The Somerville District Management Corporation meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month, 8 a.m. at Borough Council Chambers (Police Headquarters, 24 S. Bridge Street). The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
